Bordered by thousands of acres of BLM land and just minutes from the River National Forest, Silt is a great destination for outdoor recreation. The Silt area also offers a large variety of wildlife. Elk, Mule deer, mountain lions, black bears, coyotes, foxes, wild turkeys and pheasants are just some of the wild animals you can expect to see.

With the Colorado River running right through the middle of Silt, anglers will find plenty to keep them busy. Whether you fly fish from the banks, step-in with your waders or float in your canoe, it's easy to spend all day relaxing on the river.

If lake fishing is more your style, Harvey Gap State Park is a popular spot with Colorado anglers. The 160-acre lake is stocked with a variety of cold and warm water fish, including rainbow trout, crappie, catfish and small-mouth bass. Known for its premier windsurfing, the park also offers hiking, boating and picnicking. And, in winter, visitors can snowmobile, cross-country ski and ice fish. Harvey Gap sits at an elevation of 6,100 feet.
