The Town of Silt is located on the I-70 and Colorado River corridor, 185 miles West of Denver, near the towns of Glenwood Springs, New Castle and Rifle. Silt is a gateway to the approximately 2.3 million acres of the White River National Forest. Visitors to the forest can enjoy all that Colorado has to offer including magnificent scenery, wilderness hiking, family camping, plentiful wildlife, mountain biking trails, and off-road vehicle trails. Unparalleled Sporting Opportunities
Silt rests along the banks of the Colorado River which provides anglers with an amazing trout fishery and waterfowl hunters with ample spots to find huge flocks of ducks and geese. But the most impressive sporting season is in the fall when hunters from across the country come to Silt to find trophy mule deer and elk in the expansive White River National Forest.
